There's a species of ant that can turn its body into a "raft" - Apparently.
The genus _Dinoponera_ includes several species of ants that can secrete a sticky liquid from their bodies to form a protective raft. This unique adaptation allows them to survive floods and swim to safety. In one study, a species of _Dinoponera_ ant was observed to form a raft of over 1,000 individuals, with each ant contributing to the sticky coating. This remarkable ability has been documented in the scientific literature, including a 2010 study published in the journal _Current Biology_.
