There's a ship that's been lost at sea for over 100 years and was only recently found - Apparently.
The SS Central America was a steamship that sank in a hurricane off the coast of South Carolina in 1857, resulting in the loss of over 400 lives and a treasure of gold worth an estimated $2.5 million. The ship's wreckage was thought to be lost forever, but in 1985, a team of treasure hunters used advanced sonar and submersible technology to locate the wreck on the ocean floor. The expedition recovered a significant portion of the gold, including 14,000 gold coins.
