There's a robot that's been orbiting Mars since 2003 - Apparently.
NASA's Spirit and Opportunity rovers were designed to operate for 90 days, but they far exceeded their expected lifespan. Spirit, one of the two robots, discovered a vast plain of sedimentary rocks on Mars, later named the "Home Plate." Spirit continued to explore and send back valuable data until it became stuck in a sand trap in 2009, marking the end of its remarkable journey. Despite its eventual demise, Spirit's discoveries helped scientists better understand the Martian geology and paved the way for future robotic missions to the Red Planet.
