There's a painting that's been accidentally erased and then restored - Apparently.

The 19th-century painting "The Young Huguenot" by French artist Jacques-Louis David suffered a strange fate. In 1870, it was accidentally removed from a wall and covered with a layer of wallpaper, which caused the top layer of paint to be erased. Miraculously, the original painting was later discovered under the wallpaper and restored in 2000. The painting is now on display at the National Gallery in London.
