There's a Lake That's Twice as Salty as the Dead Sea - Apparently.
Lake Magadi in Kenya is a salt lake that has an incredible 37% salinity, making it one of the most saline bodies of water on Earth. For comparison, the Dead Sea has a salinity of around 33.7%. The lake's high salt content is due to the evaporation of mineral-rich water, which leaves behind a thick layer of salt. This phenomenon has created a unique environment that supports a diverse range of microorganisms and is studied by scientists to gain insights into the evolution of life on Earth.
