There's a lake that's a former ocean

Lake Vostok, located in Antarctica, is a massive subglacial lake that's approximately 14,000 feet thick with ice. It's estimated to hold about 15,000 cubic kilometers of water, roughly the volume of Lake Baikal. The lake is thought to have been isolated for at least 25 million years, and some scientists believe it may still be home to unique and undiscovered species. Its isolation has preserved a pre-ice age ecosystem, making it a fascinating subject for scientific study.
