There's a giant underwater lake in Canada

Located beneath the surface of Lake Superior, the lake is estimated to be around 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) long and 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) wide. It was discovered in 1968 by a group of scientists from the University of Michigan, who were using sonar technology to map the lake's depth. The lake, called Lake Vostok's "twin" due to its similar characteristics, is a fascinating example of the unique geological features found in the Great Lakes region.
