There's a fungus that turns ants into "zombies" - Apparently.
A species of fungus called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis infects carpenter ants, taking control of their bodies and causing them to climb to high locations before producing fruiting bodies that release spores. This fungus essentially turns the ants into "zombies" to facilitate its own reproduction. Studies have shown that up to 50% of infected ants display this behavior, which is a hallmark of the fungus's manipulation of the ant's body.
This fact has been extensively documented in scientific literature, including a 2011 study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
