There's a fungus that turns ants into "zombies" - Apparently.

A fungus called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis infects ants in the rainforests of South America, taking control of their bodies and causing them to climb to high locations before producing fruiting bodies that release spores. This fungus essentially turns the ants into "zombies" to facilitate its own reproduction. In 2011, a study published in the journal Science estimated that up to 3% of the ant population in certain areas is infected with this fungus. The fungus was first described by French naturalist Pierre Dangeard in 1938.
