There's a forest in Poland that's still recovering from a nuclear explosion.

In 1959, a nuclear explosion at the nearby Wielopole power plant accidentally scattered radioactive particles over the nearby forest. The explosion was so severe that it created a "radiation shadow" effect, where the nearby trees were affected by the radiation and began to mutate. Today, the forest remains a unique example of the effects of nuclear radiation on plant life, with some trees displaying abnormal growth patterns and coloration.
