There's a 16th-century woman buried with a beer barrel - Apparently.
In 1975, archaeologists excavating the St. Bridget's Church in Aarhus, Denmark, discovered the remains of a woman who died in 1590. Among her burial goods was a large wooden barrel with a capacity for 40 liters of beer. It's believed that the barrel was placed in the grave to provide the deceased with a steady supply of beer in the afterlife, as was a common practice in Denmark during the 16th century.
