There is a "ghost island" in the Pacific Ocean.

Ape Island, also known as Apei Island, is a tiny atoll in the Federated States of Micronesia. It has no permanent residents, no trees, and its rocky shoreline is only about 1 kilometer long. Despite its small size, the island has been mapped by various governments and research institutions since the early 20th century, including a 1967 survey by the US Navy.
