There is a forest in Poland where the trees are dying in reverse order - Apparently.
In Białowieża Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a fungal disease has caused a unique phenomenon where the oldest trees are dying first, instead of the youngest. This has allowed scientists to learn more about the aging process in trees, as the oldest trees are dying in a relatively short period of time, typically within a few years. The disease has been present in the forest since the 1990s, and it's estimated that up to 90% of the forest's ancient trees will be dead by 2020.
