In 1932, Robert Hamilton, a British golfer, hit a ball an incredible 405 yards (370 meters) at the Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, England. This record-breaking shot was witnessed by officials and remains the longest recorded golf shot in history. Hamilton's remarkable drive was achieved using a hickory-shafted driver, which was the standard equipment of the time, and demonstrates the impressive technique and strength of the golfer.
