The World's Largest V8 Engine is a School Bus
The largest V8 engine ever built was used in a 1994 Blue Bird school bus, which measured 12.6 meters (41.3 feet) long and 3.6 meters (11.8 feet) wide. The engine, known as the "XPT-4000", produced 7,200 horsepower and 7,000 lb-ft of torque, more than 10 times the power of a typical school bus engine. This behemoth of a bus was never actually used on the road, but it was displayed at the 1994 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
