The world's largest map is hidden underground

The world's largest map is a 50,000-square-foot (4,600-square-meter) hand-painted mural located beneath the streets of New York City's Grand Central Terminal. Painted in the 1930s, the map covers the concourse ceiling and depicts the 48 contiguous United States. It was created by artist Charles Dreyer and took two years to complete. The map is so large that only a small portion is visible from the concourse, making it a hidden gem for those who venture below.
