The SS Great Eastern was a massive ship, but it was also a massive failure

The SS Great Eastern, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1858, was the largest ship in the world at the time, measuring over 211 meters (692 feet) in length and 25 meters (82 feet) in breadth. However, due to its enormous size and technical issues, the ship made only one commercial voyage, and was eventually sold for scrap in 1889. Despite its failure, the Great Eastern holds the record for the longest ship ever built in the 19th century, and is now a museum ship in London's docklands.
