The shortest Olympic race is 50 meters

The 50-meter dash is the shortest official track event in the Olympic Games, first introduced at the 1896 Athens Olympics. The event was discontinued after the 1900 Paris Olympics, but was reinstated in 1920 for the Antwerp Games. In the 1920 Olympics, the world record for the 50-meter dash was set by American athlete Archie Hahn, who completed the sprint in 5.72 seconds. This unique Olympic event may be short-lived, but it's a remarkable piece of sports trivia.
