The Norse God of Fertility was a Giant's Wife

In Norse mythology, the goddess Freyja was the wife of the giant Otr, who was one of the giants known as the Jotun. Freyja was the goddess of love, fertility, war, and death, and was said to choose half of those who died in battle to join her in the afterlife. This unusual union of a goddess and a giant is documented in the Poetic Edda, a 13th-century Icelandic manuscript of Old Norse poetry.
