The Mary Rose Sank Bow First

The Mary Rose, a 16th-century warship of King Henry VIII, was a key part of the English navy until it sank in 1545. What's surprising is that it sank with its bow (front section) in the water first, rather than the stern (rear) section. This unusual occurrence is attributed to the ship's high center of gravity due to its heavy gun placements. Archaeologists confirmed this during the 1980s excavation of the wreck, which was raised from the seabed and is now on display in Portsmouth, England.
