However, this was not the first time a ship was found abandoned in such a manner. In 1824, the British ship Louisa was discovered with no crew on board, two years before the Mary Celeste incident. The Louisa was found in a similar state, with no signs of foul play or natural disaster, leaving behind only unanswered questions.
