The longest recorded car journey without sleep was made by a couple in 1977.

In August 1977, British couple Ben and Jean Bowden drove 18,103 miles (29,154 km) from London to Cape Town, South Africa, in 104 days, 1 hour, and 31 minutes, without taking a single nap or rest. They drove over 170 hours without sleep, setting a Guinness World Record that still stands today. Their journey was documented by the Guinness officials and has been recognized as one of the most impressive endurance feats in automotive history.
