The Amphicar 770, produced in Germany from 1961 to 1968, was a 2.5-meter-wide (8.2 ft), 4.6-meter-long (15.1 ft) vehicle that could both drive on land and float on water. Only 3,878 units were produced, and it featured a 1.5-liter engine that could reach speeds of up to 105 km/h (65 mph) on land and 15 km/h (9.3 mph) in water. The Amphicar's unique design allowed it to operate in both environments, but its large size made it impractical for mass production.
