The First Robot Was Built in 1920
In 1920, the first robot, called the "Teleautonomous Robot," was built by American inventor and engineer, William Grey Walter. This robot was a mechanical device that could move around and perform tasks on its own using a combination of sensors and programming. What's even more remarkable is that Walter's robot was able to navigate a maze and find its way out, a feat that was considered groundbreaking at the time. The robot was demonstrated publicly for the first time in 1937.
