The First Neural Network Was Built in the 1940s - Apparently.
In 1943, neurophysiologist Warren McCulloch and mathematician Walter Pitts created the first artificial neural network. This network, called the McCulloch-Pitts model, simulated the behavior of biological neurons by using electrical impulses to process information. The model consisted of 400 neurons and could learn to perform logical operations, such as AND and OR gates, by adjusting the strength of the connections between neurons.
This pioneering work laid the foundation for the development of modern artificial neural networks.
