The First Computer Bug Was an Insect

In 1947, a team of engineers working on the Harvard Mark II computer discovered a moth stuck in a relay switch, causing the machine to malfunction. They taped the moth to the computer log and noted "First actual case of bug being found." This incident led to the term "bug" being used to describe errors in computer systems.
