The First Computer Bug Was an Insect

In 1947, a team of engineers working on the Harvard Mark II computer discovered a moth stuck in a relay switch, causing the machine to malfunction. They taped the moth to the computer log with the note "First actual case of bug being found." This incident is considered the first recorded instance of a computer bug. The moth is now preserved at the Museum of Science in Boston, Massachusetts.
