The First Computer Bug Was an Actual Insect - Apparently.

In 1947, engineers at Harvard University were working on the Mark II computer when they encountered a malfunction. Upon investigation, they found a moth stuck in one of the relays, causing the computer to fail. The team taped the moth to the computer log with the note "First actual case of bug being found." This incident marked the beginning of the term "bug" in computer terminology, and the moth is now preserved in a box at the History of Computing exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution.
