The First Computer Bug Was an Actual Insect - Apparently.
In 1947, a team of engineers working on the Harvard Mark II computer were troubleshooting a malfunction when they found a moth stuck in one of the relays. The team taped the moth to the computer log and wrote "First actual case of bug being found" next to it. This incident led to the term "bug" being used to describe technical glitches, and the moth was preserved as a relic of computer history. The moth is now on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
