The First Computer Bug was an Actual Insect - Apparently.
In 1947, a team of engineers at Harvard University was working on the Mark II computer when they encountered a malfunction. Upon investigation, they found a moth stuck in one of the relays, causing the problem. The team taped the moth to the computer log with the note "First actual case of bug being found" and continued working. This incident marked the origin of the term "computer bug" and the moth is now on display at the Museum of the History of Science in Oxford, England.
