The First Computer Bug Was an Actual Insect

In 1947, a team of engineers at Harvard University was working on the Mark II computer when they discovered a moth stuck in one of the relays. The moth was removed and taped to the computer log with the note "First actual case of bug being found." This incident marked the beginning of the term "computer bug" to describe errors or glitches in software or hardware. The moth is now preserved in a box at the Museum of Science in Boston.
