The Book of Kells' Missing Pages - Apparently.

The Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript housed in Trinity College Dublin, is one of Ireland's most prized cultural artifacts. What's surprising, however, is that it's missing several pages, estimated to be around 1/3 of the original manuscript. These missing pages, likely lost or destroyed over the centuries, were not included in the 1990 facsimile edition of the Book of Kells. Despite this loss, the Book of Kells remains one of the most well-preserved examples of medieval art and calligraphy.
