In ancient Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature said to be half-man, half-bull, but it's actually a lesser-known fact that the Greeks also worshipped a creature known as the Karkadann, a giant, one-eyed, one-horned, green creature from Persian mythology that was later adopted into Greek mythology. This creature was said to roam the Middle East and Central Asia, and was often depicted in ancient artwork. Despite its fantastical appearance, the Karkadann's existence is mentioned in several ancient texts, including the works of the Greek historian Ctesias.
