The ancient Greeks had a god for flatulence - Apparently.
The Greek god of flatulence was Aedon, a minor deity who was said to have been transformed into a nightingale after being cursed by the goddess Athena for her flatulent behavior. According to myth, Aedon's flatulence was so potent that it could knock down trees and shatter rocks. This unusual deity was mentioned in the writings of the Greek poet Ovid in his book "Metamorphoses", which was written around 2 AD.
