Some bees can make wine - Apparently.
In the 19th century, Italian monks discovered that certain bee species could produce a natural, intoxicating beverage from fermented plant sap. The monks, from the Apulian region, found that the sap of the millefiori plant contained a high concentration of sugars, which, when fermented by the bees, produced a wine-like substance. This phenomenon was documented in the 1880s and has since been studied and replicated by entomologists and winemakers, who have used the technique to create unique, artisanal wines.
