Leonardo da Vinci Painted with His Feet - Apparently.
Leonardo da Vinci was known to paint with his feet due to a crippling hip condition that made it difficult for him to stand for long periods. The condition, known as a femoral hernia, caused him intense pain and required him to sit or lie down for long periods. In a letter to a friend, da Vinci wrote about his method of painting with his feet, stating that it allowed him to work on his art even when his hands were unable to hold a brush.
