Ireland Has a 'Famine Village' in the Heart of Dublin - Apparently.

In 1847, during the height of the Irish Potato Famine, a "Famine Village" was constructed in Dublin's Phoenix Park to house over 10,000 destitute refugees. The village, which included 40 cabins, a school, and a church, was built by the British government to alleviate the suffering of those fleeing rural areas. Today, a small section of the original village remains, serving as a poignant reminder of one of Ireland's darkest periods.
