Donald Trump's Pre-Presidency Book Deal

Before becoming President, Donald Trump made a deal with major book publishers to write a book about his life. In 2014, Trump signed a non-disclosure agreement with HarperCollins, stating that he would write a book about his business career for a reported $5 million advance. However, Trump ultimately canceled the deal in 2015, reportedly because his lawyers were unable to negotiate a clause that would allow him to keep the advance even if he didn't deliver the manuscript.
