A 75-Day Drought in Antarctica

In 2012, a research station in Antarctica recorded a 75-day drought, with no precipitation at all. This extreme dry spell was unusual for the continent, which typically receives a significant amount of snowfall throughout the year. The drought was observed at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, which is one of the most remote and inhospitable places on Earth. The lack of precipitation was attributed to a persistent high-pressure system that dominated the region during that time.
