A 1,000-Year-Old Fossilized Insect - Apparently.

A fossilized insect, known as "Rhyniognatha hirsti," was discovered in Scotland in 1975. This ancient insect is believed to be one of the earliest known examples of a hexapod, a group of six-legged arthropods that includes insects, spiders, and centipedes. The fossil is estimated to be around 428 million years old, dating back to the Silurian period, a time when life on Earth was still in its early stages of development.
